Chi (Garnett) Liu Successfully Defends His Dissertation!

June 19, 2019

Congratulations to Chi (Garnett) Liu, Duke University, Chemistry Department, who successfully defended his dissertation "Tunable Electronic Excitations in Hybrid Organic-Inorganic Materials: Ground-state and Perturbation Approaches". Garnett pioneered the application of several demanding electronic structure approaches to layered perovskites, which we now use to characterize the electronic structure of crystalline organic-inorganic materials throughout the work of the "HybriD^3" team. Physical Review Letters 121, 146401 (2018) is a significant step forward to facilitate the targeted design of new hybrid organic-inorganic perovskites with tunable properties. Several other publications of the team build on this work.
